distinct logo designs
Developing a strong, distinct, relevant, logo is not a walk in the park. It takes more then just slapping any old image to any run of the mill typeface. I like to truly understand a company before I begin designing their logo. I research the company, its products, and their customers. Knowledge of who, and what you are designing for is the key to developing the perfect logo.
A logo can be comprised of many different elements -- Logotypes, symbols, icons, pictures, colors, abstract imagery, abbreviations -- anything can be a part of a logo. When I design a logo for one of my clients, I like to think of all of the possible combinations. I start my process with research then I move on to pen and paper. I am a strong advocate of starting creative ideas with your hands and mind. I believe too many designers rely on their computers too much. Once I have a well-built understanding of where I would like to go with the logo, I transfer my work to the computer.
Typography plays a major role in my development of a logo. I have studied typography and I have also designed a couple fonts of my own. You could say I have an infatuation with type. Creating my own typeface, researching old type styles, drawing out letterforms, manipulating existing type, or by slicing and dicing fonts are some of the numerous ways I design your perfect logotype. Color is also a major player in the development of a great logo. Colors have meaning and evoke emotions, and I dive into the meaning and relationship of color with my clients. Overall, I take the necessary time to develop the best possible logo for my clients.
