This label moves away from the obvious bright colors (red, orange, yellow) and creates eye catching contrast with high class colors. The use of white type on a black background helps the name stand out. A subtle gold color takes up most of the space. I picked this color because it gives consumers a sense of high quality. Gold is one of the most expensive metals and when it is used on products it screams high quality. I used the deep blue color it contrasts perfectly against the gold, which causes the same effect as the black and white text for the gun.
This design contains a massive amount of negative space. This was done for two reasons: 1) this allows the consumers eye to travel around the entire bottle, and 2) a large gold block sitting on the shelf will really stand out.
The gun was added to help add to the already very masculine design. This label design is for a cheaper bottle of vodka, but looks like a high-end bottle. Yet, at the same time it does not come off as snotty and white collar. This is a result of the typeface, imagery, and strong geometric shapes used.
