I took the name of this vodka in its most literal interpretation. I drew a detailed Makarov. I placed the gun barrel up. The idea behind this was to keep the eye moving around the label. The customer will see the gun at first glance. After the initial view they will follow the barrel to the name of the vodka and than purchase it. Using a bright, strong, defiant red allows the gun to pop off the label. The background color is similar to a dark olive brown used in camouflage. This camouflage color would be very unique on the shelf. I have never seen a vodka label with a color like this. At the same time this color relates to the Russian Military and the idea of camouflage.
The line of red stars along the top help cap off this label design. Once again I am trying to bring as much eye catching characteristics towards the top of the bottle (same idea as presented with the last label design). Only this time the stars keep the eye from moving upwards to the next shelf. As I was saying the gun would be the first thing the customer would see, then they would move up the barrel to the name of the vodka, after that the stars would bee seen and they would continue back down towards the name again.
The neck label is very unique for this label. The two guns would wrap around and meet in at the back. The red and white star create another point of focus. Being higher up then the bottom label, the neck label will be a strong asset in your vodka's design. Repetition of the vodka's name helps drill the idea of Makarov Vodka into their head.
This label design is simple and straight forward. I have noticed that men age 30-55 (looking for cheap vodka) want this type of design. They want to see the label, know the price, alcohol content, and purchase the vodka. They are not thinking of traditions, the history of the company, heavily detailed designs, they do not want to have to search for the name of the vodka, they want everything laid out in a simple way for them to see.
